AYN adds a 16GB/1TB Odin 3 Portal Max at $669 and lists Portal accessories ahead of tonight's pre-orders

Hours before the Odin 3 Portal goes up for pre-order, AYN has quietly added a fourth configuration. The product page on AYN's store now lists a Max with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage for $669 at launch, against a regular price of $699. Fans on X spotted the new listing overnight, and we confirmed it on AYN's store this morning. Pre-orders still open tonight, Thursday, October 22 at 6:30 PM PT (9:30 PM ET), and every variant still shows as not yet available to buy.

The full Odin 3 Portal lineup

Base 12GB/128GB: $399 at launch (list $419), Black only
Pro 12GB/256GB: $479 (list $499), Black, White or Cold Grey
Max 16GB/512GB: $549 (list $579), Black, White or Cold Grey
Max 16GB/1TB: $669 (list $699), Black, White or Cold Grey. New

The 1TB model has the same 16GB of RAM as the 512GB Max, so you're paying $120 extra for storage alone. Every Portal also has a microSD slot, so most players will do fine with the 512GB Max and a large card. The 1TB Max makes the most sense if you want big PC games in Winlator, GameNative or DroidDeck on fast internal UFS storage rather than a card.

Accessories are listed too

AYN also put up the Portal's first accessories, all at launch discounts and not yet in stock:

TPU grip: $15 (list $19) in Black, Grey or Clear White. AYN notes that the white one is translucent, not solid.
Screen protector: $5 (list $6)
Switch-layout ABXY buttons: $3 (list $5) in Black, White or Purple, for anyone who wants the Nintendo button order on the face
Carrying case: $12 (list $15). It's the same case AYN sells for the Odin 2 Portal and is in stock now, but AYN warns it fits the bare device only, not one wearing the grip.

What hasn't changed

The rest of the spec sheet is as AYN announced earlier this week. Every model has the Dragonwing Q8 chip with an Adreno 830 GPU, a 7-inch 1080p 120Hz AMOLED, a 9,000mAh battery with 60W charging, UFS 3.1 storage and Android 15, and weighs about 450g. Shipping is due to start in early November, and AYN's page says no games come preinstalled. For prices, specs and how the Portal compares with the regular Odin 3, see our pre-order explainer.

Our take

A 1TB tier is a useful addition for people who install large Windows games, but $669 is a lot for an Android handheld. Unless you're sure you'll fill 512GB of internal storage, we think the $549 Max is the better buy. Order only from AYN's own store at ayntec.com, not from resellers listing the Portal early. Our Adreno 8xx driver hub and Odin 3 compatibility reports apply to the Portal, because it uses the same chip.
