GPD confirms the Win Mini Ultra runs on Intel's Arc G3 Extreme, with launch coming soon
GPD's next clamshell PC handheld is getting close. In a Weibo post resharing a Handhelds United podcast, the company confirmed that the Win Mini Ultra uses Intel's Arc G3 Extreme, the same chip as Acer's Predator Atlas 8, and teased that the launch is around the corner. It hasn't announced a date or price.
What the leak says
GPD itself only confirmed the chip. The rest comes from specs shared by retailer DROIX, which GPD hasn't finalized:- An 8-inch 1920x1200 IPS screen at 120 Hz with variable refresh rate, up from the 7-inch 1080p panel on the Win Mini 2025.
- 32GB or 64GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory.
- An M.2 2280 SSD slot with PCIe 5.0 support.
- Two USB4 v2 ports at up to 80Gbps each.
- Cooling built for up to 45W.
- A 56Wh battery (the Win Mini 2025 has 44Wh) with 100W USB-PD charging.
Bigger and heavier
The larger screen and battery come at a cost: the leak puts the Win Mini Ultra at 845 g, up from 555 g for the Win Mini 2025. Notebookcheck expects it to cost less than the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 Win Mini 2025, but that's a prediction, not a GPD price.
Why it matters
Intel's Arc G3 Extreme is quickly becoming the chip of this holiday season's Windows handhelds, with the Predator Atlas 8 launching in the US on November 1. A pocketable clamshell with a keyboard, a big battery and fast USB4 would give it a very different shape from the usual slab handhelds. We'll update this when GPD announces pricing and availability.
