DroidDeck 0.6.7: It Feels Just Like SteamOS Now
DroidDeck 0.6.7 landed on October 29, and the headline change is how close it now feels to a real Steam Deck. Steam's brightness and volume sliders control the device's real brightness and media volume, and the volume buttons show Steam's volume indicator instead of Android's. Holding Back acts like the QAM button on a Steam Deck, with native Steam Input chords and Steam's shortcut list on screen: left bumper zooms, right bumper takes a screenshot, the left stick changes brightness and holding B force quits the game. Holding Home sends the Steam Guide button. It's all set up in a new Steam integration group in Setup > Overview.Everything else in 0.6.7
- One Library for every game you own across Steam, GOG, Epic, Amazon, Xbox and itch, with a new game page and art-first cards.
- Sleep that actually sleeps: in overnight testing, a suspended game lost only 2% battery. There's also a new Pause button in the session menu.
- Xbox Cloud Gaming: stream a game straight from its page with no install, plus an opt-in native player with DroidDeck's frame generation.
- Battle.net as a store, with games installing straight from Stores.
- A full Ubuntu 26.04 LTS desktop with Kubuntu's Plasma, Discover, apt, Flatpak and Snap. Your Android keyboard and Downloads and Documents folders work on the desktop.
- Dual-screen handhelds like the Retroid Pocket Duo and AYN Thor now use the second screen for the launcher menu, the keyboard and the in-game menu.
- A much bigger itch.io store, and GOG updates, repair and offline patches.
- DroidDeck HUD, a new customizable performance HUD that complements MangoHud.
- Portrait mode for the launcher and sessions, and a much improved Android app and widget launcher with search, sorting, filters, folders and resizable widgets.
- Better performance, lower power draw when you cap the frame rate, and less heat.
DroidDeck is fully open source. Grab 0.6.7 from the GitHub release page, and check our drivers page for the latest GPU drivers.
