DD-Turnip 0.5.0 is a Mesa 27 prerelease for DroidDeck with Android and Linux drivers in one zip

2026-11-05 · By Overclocked Joe
DD-Turnip 0.5.0 landed on November 4 as a GitHub prerelease from the Droid-Deck/Drivers project: Mesa Turnip (freedreno Vulkan) built for DroidDeck, the open-source Steam Big Picture layer for Snapdragon Android handhelds. It is not the new stable. DroidDeck pulls promoted drivers from Drivers-CI, where v0.4.0 (November 2) is still the latest release DroidDeck will see until this build is promoted.

What's in the zip

Prerelease vs stable

Per the Drivers README, scheduled and marked prerelease builds publish only to the Drivers repo; DroidDeck never auto-sees them. A separate promote step copies an approved tag to Drivers-CI and marks it latest. Until that happens for 0.5.0, treat this zip as a test build if you import it by hand, and keep v0.4.0 (or another known-good driver) installed as a fallback.

Who it's for

You need a compatible Qualcomm Adreno device. DD-Turnip is aimed at DroidDeck sessions; the Android half of the zip uses the Adrenotools meta.json layout, so the android/ folder can also load where that format is accepted. Mali and PowerVR devices are out. Grab the official zip from the v0.5.0 release page, and find DD-Turnip alongside other Turnip projects on our GPU drivers page.
