ARMSX3 1.6.5 doubles Ratchet fight fps, locks Sonic 2006 at 60, and cuts idle SPU CPU burn
Games and performance in 1.6.5
- Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is much faster in its heaviest fights: the opening robot fight goes from about 12 to 25 fps on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (work by k1r4ct), with separate captures shown for 8 Elite.
- Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) holds a locked 60 fps after an SPU wait change: a signal now waits only when the previous one has not been read yet, instead of after every signal.
- Idle SPU threads stop burning CPU. Spider-Man: Web of Shadows CPU use on an 8 Elite dropped from roughly 70–80% into the 30–50% range, and other SPU-heavy games feel smoother.
- Frame generation is lighter so games keep their full rate with it on (Web of Shadows holds 30 with LSFG x2 for a smooth 60), and it holds that rate in either screen orientation. Shader compiles use every little core (three workers instead of two on 8 Gen 2).
- Small UX: backup suggests an ARMSX3-named zip, and system-keyboard typing reaches the search box in the library and settings.
What 1.6.4 already shipped (Nov 5)
- A rarer late Yakuza: Dead Souls crash is gone.
- Ratchet Tools of Destruction / Quest for Booty / Into the Nexus combat was already smoother (~30–38 fps on 8 Gen 2) before today's heavy-fight jump.
- Final Fantasy XIII, Uncharted 3 and God of War: Ascension got Stub PPU Trap / SPU presets; LittleBigPlanet 2 online patches appear in the patch list.
- OnePlus Game Space stays near 30 fps; savestates keep threads and sound; landscape pre-rotation and XMB per-game backgrounds landed.
