ARMSX3 1.6.3 unblocks Yakuza: Dead Souls and brings motion-tracked XMB sparkles
Games that stay up
- Yakuza: Dead Souls no longer freezes or crashes. The release notes credit YHVH on Discord for the testing that locked it down, with captures on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
- Journey no longer freezes at the Graveyard. Its SPU anti-aliasing (MLAA) is switched off for that title by default, with the Disable MLAA patch left on for the game.
- Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise no longer crashes, and heavier scenes run a bit faster.
XMB sparkles and polish
- The XMB's sparkles are back: hundreds of them ride the wave in the console's shimmering colours. If your handheld or controller reports motion (the same Sixaxis path games already use), tilting left or right moves the sparkles the way a real PS3 does.
- The shader compilation popup now shows which variant it is building or linking, so long first boots are less of a black box.
- Games and saves with a damaged PARAM.SFO load safely, work credited to elad335.
How to get it
Grab 1.6.3 from the GitHub releases page. As with every PS3 emulator build, you need your own game dumps; Overclocked does not host firmware, keys or ISOs.
