Recompa 0.3.0: a free Android launcher that installs and verifies 130+ native ports
If you've lost track of all the recomps, decomps and source ports landing on Android, Recompa puts them in one place. It's a free, open-source (GPL-3.0) launcher from kalasyan that lists 130+ native ports from 15+ original platforms, including PC, Nintendo 64, Xbox 360, GameCube, GBA and PSP. Version 0.3.0 came out October 30.How it works
Pick a game and Recompa downloads the recommended port straight from its author's GitHub repository, then checks its SHA-256 and signature before installing. A file assistant checks your ROM or game data and puts it where each port expects it. You can update every port at once, get notified about new versions or roll one back if something breaks. The interface is dark and built for d-pad and triggers, and a frontend mode runs full-screen and can be set as your handheld's home screen.
What's new in 0.3.0
- Languages: English by default, plus Spanish, French, Portuguese and German.
- Background downloads, with a notification that takes you to the install prompt.
- Suggest a port from the library or an empty search.
- Compatibility reports and suggestions sent from the app, no GitHub account needed.
- Link ports you installed elsewhere, with a warning if the package or signature doesn't match.
- A fix that should stop most Play Protect warnings.
What you need
Android 8.0 or newer, and your own copies of the games. Like every port it lists, Recompa includes no game files. Get it from the Recompa website or the GitHub releases, or add it to Obtainium. Browse the ports it covers in the Overclocked ports directory.
