Ocarina ReTuned brings a native, single-screen Ocarina of Time 3D recomp to Android

2026-10-23 · By Overclocked Joe
Ocarina of Time 3D can now run natively on Android phones and handhelds without a 3DS emulator. Ocarina ReTuned, from the OTPR26 project, is a static recompilation of the 3DS game for Android, Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Apple TV. Its first public build, v0.1.0-preview, came out on October 22.

What it is

ReTuned is a heavily modified fork of the TriAevum recomp, which provides the runtime and code translation. On top of that it builds in the gameplay patches and interface from Ocarina ReFramed, so the game plays on one screen: the HUD, inventory and pause menus, and camera controls are reworked for a single display instead of the 3DS's two. The team also replaced TriAevum's pre-built shader tables with a shader translator that works from your own game data, and added its own Regular and Bold HD dialogue fonts.

Features

What you need

Your own legally obtained, decrypted USA ROM of Ocarina of Time 3D in .3ds or .cci format; other regions and revisions don't work yet. On Android, install the arm64 APK and pick your ROM. The game is prepared entirely on the device, with no PC needed, but the first run can take a while. The downloads include no ROM or game data, and Overclocked doesn't host or link game files.

This is a first preview, so the developers say to expect rough edges and to report problems on the project's issue tracker. Get it from the v0.1.0-preview release on GitHub. Ocarina ReTuned is now in the Overclocked ports directory. Today's directory updates also include LAS Recomp for Android 1.2.0, Wind Waker HD Recompiled for Android Plus v1.14 and new releases of Skies of Arcadia Legends: Recompiled, MDK-SDL, ICO and Free Riders Recompiled.
