2026-10-30 · By Overclocked Joe
Echoes Unbound: Metroid Prime 2 native port for Android and PCMetroid Prime 2: Echoes now runs natively on Android phones and handhelds, with no GameCube emulator involved. Echoes Unbound comes from Odrannnn, who also made the native Metroid Prime port, and it's built from the PrimeDecomp decompilation of Echoes. The first builds landed October 28-29, and it's already up to 0.6.5 (October 30).

What's new in 0.6.5

0.6.4 (October 29) added an infinite ammo cheat, a confirmation before skipping cinematics and centred subtitles in widescreen.

Features

Widescreen with a fixed-up HUD, render scaling, high frame rates with interpolation, gyro and twin-stick aim, full remapping, save states, an on-screen touch overlay, and memory card import and export with Dolphin and PrimeHack. There are builds for Android (arm64), Windows (x86_64 and arm64), Linux (x86_64 and aarch64, including AppImage and Flatpak) and macOS on Apple silicon, plus an experimental iOS build.

What you need

Your own disc image of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes for GameCube (USA G2ME01 or PAL G2MP01) or Metroid Prime Trilogy for Wii (R3ME01 or R3MP01). No disc image or game assets are included in the downloads, and Overclocked doesn't host or link game files.

This is an early release, so expect bugs; the developer asks for reports with the log attached (F1 > System > Log). Download it from the project's GitHub releases. Echoes Unbound is now in the Overclocked ports directory.
